Biography

Alberto Roverato obtained a PhD in Statistics from the University of Padua in early 1994. He held positions at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia from 1994 to 2006 and he is currently Professor of Statistics at the University of Bologna. He is a member of the American Statistical Association, the Italian Statistical Society, the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) and the International Society for Bayesian Analysis (ISBA). Has served as referee for major statistical journals, including The Annals of Statistics, Biometrika and the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society ser. B. He has held visiting positions at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Lancaster University (UK), the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences of  Cambridge (UK), the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) in Paris (France), the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS) at Rutgers University (USA), the Institute of Information Theory and Automation (IITA) in Prague (Czech Republic) and the Center for Genomic Regulation of the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Spain).
